IROC (Indoor Recreation of Orleans County) is an indoor recreational facility housing a swimming pool, fitness center, a multi-use, non-refrigerated rink surface, a walking track and a community meeting space. The building has a footprint of 140′-0″ x 320′-0″. The construction was phased to accommodate the fund raising activities for this community based building. The completion of the concrete foundations permitted the erection of a metal building shell. As the building rose from the ground, so did the contributions to the project, permitting the design and construction of the structurally independent, steel framed interior second floor. Following the full completion of the facility, the NHL’s Stanley Cup visited the building to help inaugurate and celebrate its opening.
