Project: Grafton County Complex
Location: North Haverhill, New Hampshire
Architect: Sumner Davis Architects
Completion Date: 2005
The Grafton County Complex was a three phase project consisting of the construction of a new two story, 47,650 square foot county nursing home, minor renovations to a connected 1960’s nursing home and conversion and renovation of a 1930’s nursing home to municipal county office space. The new structure is a two story, steel braced framed structure with light gage steel prefabricated roof trusses and metal roof deck. It houses residents, activities areas, kitchen and dining facilities, and staff work areas. Small basement and attic spaces house heating and mechanical equipment for this portion of the building. Structural upgrades to the riveted steel trusses in the 1930’s building were required to increase snow load capacities to current requirements for higher insulation values. Design and construction phase services were provided on this project.
